THREE ASPECTS OF SALVATIONWhen we open the bible Luke chapter 15, we found Jesus Christ mention three kinds of parable ( 1 ) Lost sheep, ( 2 ) Lost coin ,and ( 3 ) Lost son. Which representing three conditions of the lost, and showing three persons seeking the lost.. These parables were spoken to the Pharisees and Scribes, who murmured saying, “This man received sinners “ This show the kinds of sinners and He does receive and how He does receive them. ( 1 ) Lost Sheep. Representing those who are lost to safety. There are ninety nine which the lost one was not counted. The lost sheep was in danger, exposed and helpless, typical of those who are thoughtlessly lost in the world living just for pleasure not for thinking their soul future even they have worldly life. The shepherd seek the lost sheep to save it, which the work of the SON revealed. He goes after the lost, leaving His all behind, in order that He might find it. At great sacrifice on the cross He seeks to save. ( 2 ) Lost Money. Representing those who are lost to usefulness. As long as the piece of silver was lost, it was unfit to be used, good for nothing. It was not lost in the desert but in the house. Which may be possible in the house of God and yet lost to usefulness, like the Scribes and Pharisees. To be out of the hand of Jesus to whom we belong as redeemed ones, is to be in condition of usefulness. Although , the money was value but it is useless when it was lost. God given talents and gifts are used for the ministry in church. The women seek the lost money to use it which suggest the mission of the Holy Spirit. The money was lost in the house, she light the candle and sweeps the house. Dust of the world and darkness of sins are the cause why the Holy Spirit can not get hold of their lives. The light of the truth has to be brought from without, and the dust of inward corruption stirred up within, that confession and surrender may be made. The unsaved one has just to be outside the fold of a lost soul, whereas the saved one has just to be outside the control and touch of the Holy Spirit.. The Holy Spirit like this woman seek to save this lost to a life of service for God. ( 3 ) Lost Son. Representing lost fellowship. These are the backsliders who lost to fellowship with God through his love of the world, instead of “seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness “ ( Matt 6; 33 ). The father seek His lost son to have fellowship with Him. The father does not go to seek, He waits and longs for the coming prodigal. The lost of love is the great loss. He calls for the backsliding ones to return to come back by themselves or to come back to their father. God the Father is still waiting, when will be His lost son return to Him. He do not wants to be His son in danger, giving some kinds of teaching lesson and storms in his life. All Christian should take these lesson as whether you are in the lost sheep, you have life but you do not have assurance of salvation, Jesus Christ, LOVE you and sacrificed His life on the cross, by the blood of Jesus Christ , your life has been redeemed from the power of death. Are you a lost coin, you have been saved, believing Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord, but you do not used the God given talents and gifts at your church, Holy Spirit remind you to use it or loose it. If you are the lost son, because of your disobedient to your Father, He is waiting you to come back, and fellowship with Him. If you do not, the wrath of the Father will come upon you at one day. Let think about that what kinds of lost are you now. The love of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit is always upon you and God do not wants you to be in lost. Dr John Than |
